Quicken connection to Northwestern Mutual Investment Services down?

Is anyone else experiencing a problem using Quicken to connect to Northwestern Mutual Investment Services today? I receive error code 2000 with the following text:

"Verify your Northwestern Mutual credentials by logging into NM.com. If they are correct, log into NM.com and navigate to the profile page, located within settings, to link to Quicken. For assistance, please contact us at 1-866-950-4644."

When I check my nm.com page, the Quicken app is still registered there. I went ahead and removed it from my nm.com profile, but I am not prompted to add it back when Quicken tries to connect to my accounts.

hi. I am seeing this issue on Quicken for Mac. Likewise, I followed the instructions to check my NM credentials and they are valid until June 2026. I also called and spoke with NM support and per NM, all is good on their side. Seems a Quicken issue. Hesitated to remove my quicken app from NM expecting to experience what you did - not being prompted to reconnect.

I think I will wait a few days to see if this works itself out before deleting NM accounts and trying to re-add.

Interesting. Could be, but I'm not entirely convinced that it's not on the Northwestern Mutual side. It could be that they are rejecting connections coming from Quicken's cloud services, for example.

UPDATE: I just spoke with Northwestern Mutual support. They did suggest removing the authorization from the nm.com profile and try linking it to Quicken again. The customer support representative mentioned that it can take up to 48 hours for the authorization approval to show up in the nm.com profile. He also mentioned that he's seen Quicken authorizations in the nm.com portal expire before their supposed expiration date, so that might be what happened in this case. Mine was supposed to be valid through June 2026 as well, FWIW.

Same problem just started yesterday, I did see on the NM site they were doing maintenance this week. I no longer see on their site were to authenticate the quicken app for download. THis is disappointing

Seems like it's fixed now. To re-register your devices, do this:

    1. First, remove the old registration from your nm.com profile by clicking the trash icon next to it. You find that on the nm.com website under Profile > Login & Security > Quicken Device Registrations. This will break the old connection.
    2. Switch to Quicken and try connecting to your Northwestern Mutual account(s) again.
    3. Now, go back to the same area of the nm.com website as step #1, and refresh the page. You should see a new Quicken connection request. Approve it by clicking the check mark, and you're all set. Switch back to Quicken, and the account transactions should update successfully.
    4. If you have multiple nm.com logon IDs connected to different accounts in Quicken, you need to repeat this step for each account that uses a unique logon. For example, suppose you and a partner/spouse have separate nm.com IDs to track retirement accounts, and suppose all of those accounts are tracked in the same Quicken data file. Updating the first user ID will work for all accounts in Quicken that are tied to that nm.com user profile. For the others to sync, you need to repeat the same steps for that second nm.com logon ID. So, let's say you have six accounts tracked in Quicken spread across two nm.com user IDs. You need to logon to each nm.com account in your web browser and approve the connection to Quicken. Do this for each nm.com profile, and all six accounts will start to work again.

    Hope this helps.
