UPDATED 2/19/26 Customer's experiencing unknown phone numbers after MFA prompt
We are receiving reports from customers that they encounter unknown phone numbers during MFA verification when attempting to connect to their financial institution.
An example of how these MFA phone numbers would show up is:
- Call Cell: XXX-XXX-1279
- Text Cell: XXX-XXX-1279
- Call Cell: XXX-XXX-9874
- Text Cell: XXX-XXX-9874
This is a security feature that randomly generates numbers and not actual phone numbers; there is no security concern.
This has been escalated internally, though we do not have an ETA at this time.
