"Regular" Web Connect Not Working
My Quicken data file became corrupted, so I am creating a new one from scratch. I am attempting to add my online accounts but running into an issue. Any institution that I download using Direct Connect or Web Connect+ works fine but I am unable to add any accounts using "regular" Web Connect. I have confirmed that I have the correct username and password (I even tried resetting passwords but that didn't work). So far Quicken support has been useless. Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this? Thanks.

What financial institutions is this happening with? Not all FIs support Direct Connect & Express Web Connect+ & Web Connect (there is no "Web Connect+").
And, for Web Connect, you initiate the download from the FIs website … not via One Step Update.
What has Support suggested that didn't work?

You are correct: I should have written that "Direct Connect and Express Web Connect+" are working. I also know that you download directly from the financial institution when the method is Web Connect.
Quicken Support took my information and logs days ago, they feel it is specific to 3 of the FIs. I contacted them and they confirmed that all was fine on their end. I also sent Quicken Support my communication logs but I am still waiting for their analysis.

There are four connection types, it sounds like the problem ones are Express Web Connect.
The four types are:
Web Connect (you get a QFX file from financial institution and import into Quicken)
Express Web Connect (Inuit (Quicken's aggregator) uses your username and password to log into the financial institution's web site and get the information.
Express Web Connect + (you authorize Intuit to use the FDX protocol which uses rotating security tokens by logging into your financial institution and approving this)
Direct Connect, Quicken connects directly to the financial institution's QFX server and requests the transactions.

Naming the financial institutions that you are having problems with will help narrow down the cause since they might already be reported as having problems. Also, you should post the error numbers like CC-XXX which indicate what the problem is.

My Quicken data file became corrupted, so I am creating a new one from scratch.
What? No data file backups to restore from? What happened to cause this apparently unrecoverable corruption?
As far as Web connect - downloading of QFX files is concerned … some banks have chosen to discontinue support of QFX file imports into Quicken even though they may still support creation of QFX files on their web site … go figure.
The only alternative is to set up (authorize) these accounts for One Step Update downloading … if they still support that …0 -
Let me answer both queries in one response:
- I do have backups but those data files were also corrupted so they didn't help. I tried to work with one of them, but I realized I wasting my time. The reason I use the Password Vault is automate all the downloads using One Step Update.
- The financial institutions that use Express Web Connect and are not working:
- Patelco Credit Union
- Jovia Credit Union (workaround: Direct Connect)
- Synchrony (various credit cards)
- Elan Financial Services
- Macys Credit Card
- Nordstrom Visa
I appreciate the help and feedback!
