What does this super validation comment mean?

I just lost (again) the ability for Fidelity accounts to download, and for some of them to even be able to be matched to accounts in Quicken. On super validating, the output log said this:

Cannot attempt data-specific validation.
Your file is from a more recent version of Quicken.

What in the world does this mean? I don't do anything with versions other than let Quicken auto update itself…

Do you in any way move your file around? Is it in a folder that's managed by OneDrive (or others similar)?

When you do HELP, About Quicken, what shows as the Release?

And, why were you doing the SuperValidation? That's not a recommended action for lost connectivity, in almost all cases.

It's in an iCloud folder, but I have it always available on the device. What's the problem with super validation?

That validation message might mean that your data file is corrupted. There is version number in the data file and if it can't read it correctly it might think that the data file is from a future version of Quicken.

When you say "it's always available on the device" do you mean that you actually use the file on your harddrive?

If you click on FILE, what shows in the #1 position at the bottom of that menu? That's your currently active file.

Using (not saving to) a file on the cloud is ill-advised as a connection hiccup can irretrievably corrupt your file.
