Do I have to validate?

I installed my 2017, stand-alone, quicken program on a new computer and opened the file.

As soon as the file opens, and I can see it, Quicken steps in and makes it disappear until I purchase a subscription.

Is there a workaround for this? I didn't need a subscription when I bought it, why do I need one now????

Nothing works. They have you by the cojones. You have to buy into the subscription rip off.

I talked to a supervisor and found out that you can install the old program on a new computer but they will block you from trying to use it because, when I purchased it, it was only licensed for one computer. The sup. said to just run it on your old computer. I said that if my old computer was working, I wouldn't have gotten a new computer.

I think we'll see a class action suit, down the line. When I bought the program, it was my understanding that I didn't need a subscription; I owned the program. Evidently, that's not the case.

Well, at least I got 5 years use out of it before it's in the grave, now.

You NEVER "owned the program". What you owned/bought was a license to run the program, subject to the terms of the license agreement.

And, why did you only get "5 years use" out of a 9 year old program?

Also, Q2017 was pre-subscription but after the Q/Intuit ID was instituted … which is probably the real issue that you're having since the servers to validate the ID for Q2017 were shut-off years ago.
