Marcus by Goldman Sachs not connecting, February 2026, message that the APIs have been turned off
For the past few days my Marcus accounts have not been able to connect to Quicken Classic for Mac.
I’m getting this message: “Connectivity is no longer supported by Marcus at Goldman Sachs."
When I attempt to reconnect the accounts within Quicken, the interface is no longer listed for Marcus.
I called Marcus and they told me that the Quicken interfaces have NOT been turned off/deleted/terminated. They said that there is no reason at their end why Quicken for Mac should not be able to connect to Marcus.
So I’m reaching out to Quicken on this.
Any idea what is happening and when it will be resolved?

It’s a known issue:

There's an other thread about the Marcus issues. On user posted this:
I've been chatting with Marcus support and here's what they said. "This is for security purposes at this time and we don't have a date for the future." They have evidently discontinued access and removed their bank from the list of supported institutions. They did not notify customers in advance. The online support team has no answers to this. Now they disconnect you if you ask about it. 😡
Another user noted their conversation with Marcus support stated there had been no changes on their end — exactly the opposite of the above. When another Quicken user asked about the contradictory statements, a Quicken moderator posted this:
We currently have an Open Alert for this issue. This decision was made by the bank, and we do not have an ETA as to if/when it will be resolved.
And that's as much as anyone seems to know at this time.

I called Marcus and they said they were not aware of any actions taken by the bank not to support downloading. Please note that Goldman Sachs is still on Quicken's list of participating financial institutions, and, while I understand that Marcus is a separate entity, this does suggest to me that the issue may be on Quicken's end and not Marcus/Goldman Sachs.

I understand that Marcus is a separate entity…
@JamesDaniel You can't go from that statement to somehow inferring that since Goldman Sachs still supports Quicken, that Marcus does too, and that any problem with Marcus is therefore Quicken's fault. As you stated, Marcus is a separate entity. Period.

I have numerous accounts with Marcus and they are all still syncing in Quicken. However, if I try to add a new one, I no longer have an option to select Marcus by Goldman Sachs. Not sure what that means, or if they will stop syncing at some point, but this will be a major issue for me going forward if Marcus accounts stop syncing.
This issue, combined with the fact that Quicken still has not addressed the Sallie Mae security/password issue that I reported twice to them last year (which resulted in having to disconnect Sallie Mae accounts and manually do entries) will mean Quicken is far less useful for me.
I have found that discussions in the Quicken community generally have low impact on getting fixes/changes to the product. And as you can see from the issue below, Quicken locks these issues down to where you can't even respond back with feedback or ask for status updates:
UPDATED 2/10/26 Marcus by Goldman Sachs - Bank no longer supports downloading — Quicken
Adding Sallie Mae Account is Broken — Quicken
Adding Sallie Mae Account Is Still Broken — Quicken
Ongoing Sallie Mae Banking issue with Fields reversed and Password vault exposed — Quicken
To me, this says they are not interested in coming up with a solution to the problem. I intend on opening a support ticket if my Marcus accounts stop syncing. And if there isn't a path forward for Marcus and Sallie Mae accounts, will be asking for a partial refund.
NOTE: Do not use their proposed solution in that last Sallie Mae link as they still are not comprehending the real problem. It is not just that the username and password fields are reversed when it asks you for those during the Sallie Mae account setup process, the main problem is when Quicken adds those to your password vault it creates an entry named with whatever your password is (thus exposing your password in plain text). I would put this information on that Sallie Mae issue but once again, they closed the issue before fixing it and don't allow customers to respond. (Hopefully this message makes it through and they don't delete it on me).

i have been in contact with Quicken and Marcus. The issue is with Marcus. They made a decision to no longer allow downloads to Quicken. I have yet to find out the reason why. The people I talked to at Marcus didn't know the reason. I told them i was going to withdraw all my money from the 7 accounts I have there if they did not allow downloads to Quicken. It's too much work for me to manually enter all the data

Confirmed you can not add new Marcus accounts & it is a Quicken issue not a Marcus issue. This program is what it once was. Is there an alternative?

@nitusa57 No, it is clearly a Marcus issue. In the Alert message about Marcus, Quicken has posted: "The financial institution made the decision to no longer be supported. Going forward, you will need to manually enter your transactions to continue tracking your Marcus by Goldman Sachs accounts." Several users in this thread above have confirmed that they got the same answer talking to Marcus. If Marcus cuts off Quicken downloads, then blaming the problem on Quicken is incorrect. Whether this is a permanent decision by Marcus or a temporary one is unclear.
Goldman Sachs is significantly scaling back its Marcus consumer banking division. For instance, last month it was officially announced (after years of rumors) that Apple is moving the Apple Card from Marcus to JP Morgan Chase over the next year or two. In recent years, Marcus stopped offering consumer loans and closed their Marcus Invest robo-advisor platform. These changes are part of a strategic pivot shifting focus away from mass market consumers toward high-net-worth clients.

I'm glad I checked before opening a new savings account with them. I have too many accounts to be manually adding transactions all the time. I'll take my business elsewhere.

So, just as a data point, my existing Marcus CD accounts downloaded month-end interest yesterday, HOWEVER, I can not set up any new accounts. Quicken no longer shows Marcus by Goldman Sachs as a financial institution.

I have experienced the same thing. While Quicken gives me the error message "Quicken cannot connect to this account" and Marcus is not listed as a bank to connect to, I noticed upon opening the Marcus transaction register, where I was planning a manual entry for interest for the month of February, low and behold a downloaded interest transaction (including blue dot) for Feb 28………very strange……

I have checked. I can confirm that all my Marcus accounts—including the Certificates of Deposit (CDs) and the High-Yield Savings Account (HYSA)—have been downloaded and auto-updated, and the accrued interest has been successfully credited. For some reason, Quicken is not recognizing them.

My account updated today as well. Working on a Marcus bonus, so 3 more months to go. I wish Quicken would suppress the error message popup that happens every day. At this point, update it automatically or don't. If it is actually still connecting, get rid of the error message until you see an actual error. 31 days of error messages until my next interest transaction.
Hey Quicken, how about allowing us to turn off automatic downloads and let us trigger the monthly download from accounts that only update once a month.
