Hello. I would like to set up a separate travel budget that includes expenses from the credit card that is also tracked in my primary budget. I want to keep these expenses out of my household budget. Please help! Thank you!

A bit more info would be helpful.

Why do you want to keep the travel budget separate? Are these, perhaps, reimbursable business expenses?

If so, you can create a banking type "Receivables" account and use that as the transfer/category for these reimbursable expenses. Then, when you get the reimbursement, you record it as coming from "Receivables".

Transfers aren't expenses, so unless you choose to include transfers in your budget, they won't be included.

    Hi @STAustin,

Thank you for reaching out! I’ll be happy to help you create a separate travel budget.

To create a new budget, please follow these steps:

    Open the Budget tool:

    1. Go to the Planning tab.
      • If tabs are hidden, enable them by going to View > Show Tabs.
    2. Click Budgets.

    Start your budget:

    • If this is your first budget, click Get Started.
    • To create a new budget, select Budget Actions > Create New Budget.

    Name your budget:

    • Enter a name to help identify it (for example, “Travel Budget 2026”).

    Select the year:

    • Budgets default to the current year.
    • If needed, use Advanced Budget Settings to adjust the year.

    Choose categories:

    • Quicken can automatically include recurring categories, or you can manually select the categories you’d like to track.
    • You can modify category selections later if needed.

    Complete setup:

    • Click Next to generate your budget.

Once your travel budget is created, you can begin tracking your spending and make adjustments at any time.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions.
