Renewal price

I've been renewing the Classic Starter edition since 2017, currently 8.5.1. I'm seeing all kinds of numbers being thrown out for my next renewal, this August. Does anybody have an accurate renewal price? Thanks .

Different vendors will frequently have pricing other than what Q itself asks.

Simply shop around as you would for any purchase.

Also, you've posted in a QMac forum … but there is no "Starter" for the Mac. So, what are you running?

Here's the "pricing" page from Q itself: https://www.quicken.com/products/pricing-comparison-classic/

@NotACPA There is indeed a Starter subscription level for Quicken Mac — although finding the web page offering Starter (for Mac or Windows) can be a challenge.

Most pages on Quicken's website show only Deluxe, Premier and Business and Personal levels, and omit mentioning Starter.

Thanks. For my modest needs, I think I'll move from Quicken Starter to Moneydance. It's a one time purchase and $4 a month only to sync with bank and CC accounts.

@d.gerety. So you'd save about $14 a year: $53.88/year for Quicken Starter versus $40.00 for Moneydance Plus connectivity. But you have to purchase Moneydance ($65), so you don't come out ahead in cost until your fifth year. And somewhere along the way, you'll likely need to re-purchase a newer version of Moneydance to keep up with changes in macOS technology or their connectivity security. So I'm saying to just consider if this is worth the hassle of moving to a new platform. Also, check whether there's a path to move your existing Quicken data to Moneydance. I'm pretty sure it only imports from QIF files, and Quicken Mac does not export data in QIF format. There might be a way to do it with a QMTF export from Quicken Mac, but I'm not sure whether that works.

Jacobs, your points are well taken and worthy of consideration between now and August when I'm due for a Quicken renewal. I've already imported my Quicken data using CSV, which works quite well. I've also found it quite simple to import data from my bank and credit cards, but that would be a bit of an irritant with a handful of accounts. If the Quicken renewal is $53.88 as you suggest, it will make that path more attractive. However, if it's $90 as I've seen elsewhere, or even close, I'm packing my bags and moving to Moneydance. Thanks very much for your thoughts. DG

I was basing that on the not-easy-to-find page on the Quicken website which shows Quicken Classic Starter subscriptions selling for $4.49/month = $53.88/year.

I'd also note that Quicken Deluxe, which is sold both directly by Quicken and by retailers, is often on sale for little more — and sometimes even less — than Starter. For instance, I just did a quick search and found Quicken Deluxe in a retail box (not marked only for new subscribers) for $44.99 from Walmart.
