New to this community (I lived in a "community" in the late sixties, and it was Great!) However, I just received an alert about an account being VERY overdrawn…I panicked and checked with the bank, and, thankfully, the "alert" was grossly mistaken. Also, I found a transaction in 2025 which should have been in 2024. What have I done wrong??
Thanks! Hans

What amount is shown, in Q, for that account? What type of account is it?
re: that transaction … why can't you simply change the date on it? OR, if the correct date is very close to 12/31/24, is it possible that it didn't clear your bank until early January 2025?

Hi @H-I,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing. I’d be happy to help.
Sometimes transactions are entered or modified incorrectly. If this is the case (and it isn’t happening repeatedly), you can manually adjust the transactions to the correct date, ensuring there are no duplicates.
If your account balance is incorrect, I recommend checking the following:
- Opening balance – make sure it is correct.
- Balance adjustments – review any adjustments that may have been applied.
If the issue persists after checking these, you can restore a backup from before the problem began.
- Go to File > View/Restore Backups....
- Browse the Local and Online Backups tabs to find the backup file you want to restore. The Quicken backup file has the extension .QDF-Backup.
- Select the file to restore and click Restore Backup.
- Next, you will have the option to overwrite the open file or create a copy of the backup you're restoring.
Note: After restoring a backup, make sure to update all accounts or reconnect them as needed to download the most recent transactions.
Please let me know if this answers your question. I’m happy to provide further guidance if you have additional questions!
