Add Unit Gross Price and Unit Cost to the Capital Gains Report

    Many of us in the industry expect and would like to see the Unit Gross Price (related to Gross Proceeds) and the Unit Cost (related to the Cost Basis), which is simply the values divided by the number of shares, in a CAPITAL GAINS REPORT.

    • The Unit Price and Unit Cost are more in line with know security values, not the extended values, so basically you are shorting us from standard capabilities that everyone looks at, UNIT COST/PRICE.
    • You can add both of these fields into the available Capital Gains fields as 'Not Shown' by default.
    • I add this request every year into Quicken ideas. Nothing ever changes. What gives with such a simple request, come on, waiting patiently for such a long time.

    @J_Rapp The Idea posted above is for Quicken Mac, and you're clearly referrign to Quicken Windows. You might want to make your comment in a Windows Idea thread, or create one of your own; the Windows developers won't see it here.

    @jacobs
    It's not only a Windows output issue, it is also a Mac issue. I want the thread to be in both.
    Come one an support me in this endeavor.

    @J_Rapp I am trying to support you by getting you to submit your feature request in the proper place. What I was explaining is that Quicken Windows and Quicken Mac product enhancement requests must be submitted in the Product Ideas section for the respective program; they are read by their respective development teams, which are completely separate (and not even in the same place). So if you want this suggestion to be implemented in Quicken Windows, go to:

    Product Ideas > Ideas for Windows Classic > Investments

    and post your request. If you also want to advocate for the same enhancement to Quicken Mac, go to:

    Product Ideas > Ideas for Mac Classic > Investments

    and post it there as well.

    Any Idea thread needs to attract votes from enough fellow Quicken users that to be formally forwarded to the proper development team for their consideration. It's usually a long, slow process, but I can say as a longtime Mac user that many of the enhancements in the program roughly every other month come from the ideas submitted by users.
