Please add the columns Unit Cost and Unit Gross Price to Capital Gains reports

Many of us in the industry expect and would like to see the Unit Gross Price (related to Gross Proceeds) and the Unit Cost (related to the Cost Basis), which is simply the valued divided by the number of shares, in a CAPITAL GAINS REPORT.

  • The Unit Price and Unit Cost are more in line with know security values, not the extended values, so basically you are shorting us from standard capabilities that everyone looks at.
  • You can add both of these fields into the available Capital Gains fields as 'Not Shown' by default.
  • I add this request every year into Quicken ideas. Nothing ever changes. What gives with such a simple request, come on, waiting patiently for such a long time.

    This seems such an easy ask and an easy fix providing those of us doing investment trading great information.

    I add this request every year into Quicken ideas. Nothing ever changes. What gives with such a simple request, come on, waiting patiently for such a long time.

    Quicken gets lots of Ideas for product improvements. To help prioritize them, they only consider those that have broad support from the user community. Usually it takes about 50 votes for an idea to be considered for implementation. This is a duplicate of an Idea you created in August of 2025, which still only has your vote.

    To give an Idea more visibility and a chance for more votes, it is best to add a comment to your existing Idea, bumping it to the top of the list, rather than creating a new one. I think the intent of the current Capital Gains report is to provide the information you need to complete IRS Schedule D, which would explain why it includes the Gross Proceeds and Cost Basis rather than the items you are requesting.

    @J_Rapp And if you're truly running Q2017, as your profile states, this feature will NEVER be added to that.

    Q2017 went out of support 6 years ago.
