Make Comparison report Compare to range more useful
Currently the Current Spending vs. Average Spending reports let you select date ranges of Current XXX, Last XXX, and Custom but the Compare to settings are always Last n XXX, where XXX is Week, Month, or Year. When selecting a range like Last Year, comparing to Last 3 years for example would compare 2024 to 2022, 23, and 24.
This overlapping range makes the 3 year average not very meaningful. It would be much more useful to be able to compare last year to the 3 previous years, i.e. 2024 to 2021, 22, and 23.
The simplest way to implement this change would be to make it so that if you select Last XXX, the Compare to range was changed to Previous XXX and the selected dates changed accordingly.
There should also be a way to select a Custom compare to range. This might bring up a dialog like
n [dropdown box of Weeks/Months/Years] starting [date entry]
For example, this would let you compare a range of dates to a baseline in the past, so you could compare your income from various sources in 2020 to your income in 2021, 22, 23, and 24.

This is a significant oversight to doing simple, but effective financial planning. The fix seems like a simple one with immediate and meaningful impact. I'm using Quicken to teach my kids how a tool like this is a powerful and simple to use tracker with powerful analysis tools; it was embarrassing when my Gr 10 pointed this issue out.
