Can I safely treat one security with two names using just one name?

Securities. (using Quicken Classic Premier)
There seems to be a security with two names

"STORA ENSO OYJ SPON ADR REP R" and "STORA ENSO ADR"

They both seem to have the same ticker symbol, SEQAY.

Would it create issues if I renamed all the "STORA ENSO OYJ SPON ADR REP R" shares
in Quicken to "STORA ENSO ADR" or vice versa? Would one name be a better choice than the other?

Don't understand. I am asking a "new" question.

It is just a pain in the bum. I know of no search engine that allows you to search for "A or B", and I know of no way in Quicken to search for all securities with the same ticker. Searching in only possible in the Cash half of the account and Ticker only appears in the Investment/Security side but can't be searched for a character string. I could change the "STORA ENSO ADR" shares to "STORA ENSO OYJ SPON ADR REP R" or just search in the cash side to STORA ENSO.

To find securities with the same ticker, try Tools | Security List and click the Symbol column to sort by ticker.

I don't find anything about STORA or SEQAY on Yahoo Finance. I can't really tell what issues you are having or why or how you got into your situation.

Yes, you can edit the transactions to make them use a common name - if they truly are the same security.

Generally speaking, one name for a given security is better than two.

I'm taking a guess that this security is, actually, Italian. Would that be correct?

If so, what currency do you hold them in, and do you have an investment account that denominated in that currency?
