AI-powered search inside attached receipts (PDFs and images)
Quicken's Find only searches transaction metadata (payee, memo, amount, category). It can't search the contents of attached receipts. To locate a specific item, I have to open attachments one at a time.
Please add AI/OCR indexing of uploaded receipts so I can search for text inside them — item names, SKUs, serial numbers, warranty terms — and use natural-language queries like "find the HP printer receipt from Costco" or "what did I spend on office supplies last March?"
Why it matters:
- Warranty claims, returns, insurance, tax documentation, audits
- Competing tools (Evernote, Expensify, Google Drive) already OCR uploads automatically
- Quicken Cloud already stores the receipts — indexing them turns a digital shoebox into a searchable archive
- AI models can go beyond OCR to extract line items, totals, and warranty terms as structured data
Suggested rollout:
- OCR attachments so Find matches text inside them
- Extract line items and merchant details as searchable fields
- Natural-language AI search across all attached receipts

WAAAYYY too much work for inclusion in code as old as Q.
And, I never keep receipts inside of Q, because you can only view them from inside of Q.
Instead, I use an completely separately PDF manager, with entries in Q's memo field indicating the stored PDF.
