Closed accounts appear with balances in Net Worth Report

I'm using Q Classic Premier on a Windows desktop using Windows 11 version 25H2. When I do a Net Worth report or an Account Balances report, several investment accounts appear that have been closed for years and have zero balances. The report, however, shows the accounts with balances that are absolutely incorrect.

I tried to remove the accounts from the report using the "Customize Report" tool, but the accounts aren't there. I also tried to change the date for the report to show only the last month, but that makes no difference. Further, I chose the "Edit" option from the account list, then ensured that the accounts are closed (they are) which should set the balances to zero (it didn't). Exasperation level is high.

The combination of issues suggest to me the possibility of a corrupted Q data file.

SO, have you tried taking a backup (just in case) and then Validating your file?

Also, what is the FULL path to your file? And do you use QWeb or QMobile?

Thanks, NotACPA. I use QWeb and create a complete backup weekly to a directory on my NAS. I tried restoring from a month-old backup, but if the restoration file is corrupted I'll have to go farther back to install an older backup. I have a large number of transactions, so that would be painful.

By the way, I ran a file validation on the current file. It found a few errors but did not change the characteristics of the problem.
