How to restore a single account from backup

I seem to have accidentally deleted one of my IRA accounts. Not sure how it happened.

I found it in a backup from a few days ago. I don't want to just restore the full backup, because then I'll lose everything I've done in between and there's no way to track that. It's an IRA and I could just re-download it from Fidelity, but I'd rather be able to recover all the history.

Is there a way I could export the full account from the backup and then import it in my current data set?

    Warning - Make a backup before doing anything

    When restoring a Quicken data file, it is all or nothing.

    You could try restoring the backup to a different name (don't overwrite your current file).

    Then do a QXF file export of the single account and then importing it into your current file, but it is not a guaranteed process. I tried it with the smallest of my investment accounts and got the following error messages in the log file of the import.

    ==================

    Quicken data file: P:\Quicken\qxf-import-test.QDF

    Imported on 4/30/2026 from Quicken for Windows Premier Version 27.1.67.7 from file exported on 4/30/2026 (DataVersion 1.24.0).

    It was off by almost $18k. You might have better luck if your account isn't very old and doesn't have too many lot assignments. You will probably have to fix any funding transfers into the account that covered purchases.
