How to enter a Fund Split

Hi,

There was a Fund split on 4-21 for

VANGUARD GROWTH INDEX FUND ETF SHARES 6 for 1

VANGUARD INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INDEX FUND ETF SHARES 8 for 1

Quicken downloaded it correctly as a split with the correct 6 for 1 and 8 for 1 but the calculations are not correct and the dollar amounts and shares are off even if i enter the correct cost after split.

If i just set it up as Shares Added i get the correct numbers but then the Cost Basis and Gain Loss % is off.

Does anyone know the workaround to make this work correctly? Thank you.

IF the action is available in your Q product, use the "Stock Split" function rather than the downloaded "Shares Added", which you should delete.

"Shares Added" get the overall cost basis correct … but those add'l shares will show a cost of $0, while they should have a cost proportionate to the overall holding.

Also, double-check when the quote for the holdings changed. It should only change on the day of the split … but frequently an amount is downloaded early which throws your valuation off.
