Linux Self-Migration (Quicken isn't helping)
Has anyone successfully gotten Quicken Classic (Win or Mac) to run on Linux under Wine or Proton or any compatibility layer? Not counting emulators, trying to get COMPLETELY away from M$haft code.

I have done some research, and found that Quicken will not run on Wine without adding some additional software. Has anyone succeeded in finding and installing that software so that Quicken will run without any Microsoft Windows code? Or are the additional apps also Microsoft and just as insecure as Windows 10?

I've been running Quicken on a Virualbox VM hosted by my Linux desktop machine. That works well, but performance is not very good compared to anything closer to a native Linux app. With an app like Quicken, we all have to consider that Accuracy is maintained. No dropped transactions during downloads from any of dozens of financial institutions etc. The Quicken team has focused, and improved, Quicken Classic in these areas quite a bit over the past 4-5 years.
Being a Quicken Classic user since 1993, and dumping Windows in 2015 for Linux on the desktop and ChromeOS laptop, I've not had any trouble with virus infections, and intrusive ads common to Windows, especially the horrid Windows 11.
It seems that user experiences with Crossover are varied, but I sure like what I'm reading in the comment by StratixMan.
