@Jim_Harman I'm not sure why you wouldn't have expected that. They're Account-Level settings … and I can't see any reason why such wouldn't apply to splits within the account…1 -

The financial institutions that you download from have no way of knowing what your categories are … they aren't downloaded. I customarily input my transactions manually and assign the categories…1
