You are spot on. Distinguishing taxable income from non-taxable income is a big problem, right up there with the lack of a Balance Sheet and with the lack of a Cash Flow Statement. Who knows, maybe in 2019?0

What version of Quicken were you using that did distinguish them? Are you coming over from QM2007 or some other version?

Thanks for helping us out. I am using 2018 Quicken for Mac (version 5.4.4), with converted data coming from 2017 Quicken for Mac. As far as I know, Quicken for Mac has never had the capability to distinguish taxable from non-taxable cash flows. Before 2016, my data was in Banktivity 5, which did distinguish taxable from non taxable. By the way, Banktivity 5 also does have a Balance Sheet(BS) report and an Income statement (IS), but not a cash flow report. Banktivity does have its problems, too, which is why I switched over to Quicken for Mac. To answer your question, the version of Quicken that did have these things was Quicken for Windows, which I used until 2012 or so. Would you agree with me that a Balance Sheet is fundamental to financial planning?0

Actually QM2007 DOES distinguish between the two. I guess this is another one to add to theGaryG said:Thanks for helping us out.
