Edwin, are you using QMac or QWin?
Quicken user since Q1999. Currently using QW2017.
Questions? Check out the Quicken Windows FAQ list0 -
I'm using Q2019 R16.14, (I generally run a little behind on updates), and was able to use the DivX action just fine. If you try to enter the transaction using
"Enter Transactions" > "Inc - Income (Div, Int, etc.)"
and then selecting the "To" Account you want to use in the "Transfer account" box, does that work?
What release are you using?

That is the procedure I am using.
I am using Quicken 2019 Windows Rel. 17.6.
I had the same problem using 2017, but only after August 2018.
Prior to that, it worked fine.

Can you create a new test file, create a test brokerage Account and checking Account, and try "DivX" there? Does that work?Edwin A. Swan said:That is the procedure I am using.

Re: DivX I this issue many times with different versions of Quicken.
You would like to manually enter a transaction to your brokerage account that is linked to a cash account. The transaction type you entered keeps changing from DirX to Deposit. Your transaction never gets to Cash side of your account.
If the account was updated by One Step, this problem should have been handled automatically.
The following is not a pitch for you to purchase. This software works fine with credit cards and bank statements. Investing transactions with linked cash accounts are more challenging.
I correct this using software from propersoft.com CVS2QIF.1) From your brokerage, download transactions for the individual account and period as a CVS file.
2) Open the file in Excel and clean it up if needed.
3) Save your file as a type CVS.
4) Run CVS2QIF
5) BROWSE (upper Right corner) for the IMPORTED file you reviewed and/or cleaned up.
CVS2QIF Program settings need to be adjusted!
6) Target: (upper Right corner) Mine is set to Quicken 2018+Windows!.
7) Make sure the ACCOUNT NAME: matches EXACTLY the Quicken File ACCOUNT NAME!
8) Set the Account Type to "Invest" (upper Left corner)
9) Review the Mapping (upper Right corner)
10) Save the Map File for future use. I call mine “Invest Mapping”
11) Convert the file (box lower Right corner)
12) Open Quicken
"BACKUP YOUR QUICKEN DATA FILE" before doing the following!!!
13) Open the Quicken FILE TAB.
14) Choose FILE IMPORT
15) Select QIF
16) Make sure your import data destination is pointed to the Investment side of the linked account you want to import data for, Not the Cash Side!
17) Click Import.
18) Review all imported data and make changes from Deposit to DivX etc.
I found One training video specifically for Investment accounts. It is not great!
I suggest that you start with just 4 or 5 lines of the CVS file you downloaded before converting a large file.

@Edwin A. Swan, if you are still there,
- Please check to verify that there are no Placeholders affecting this security by going to Edit > Preferences > Investing transactions and making suere "Show hidden transactions" is selected.
- Does this account have a linked checking account?
- Are you entering these transactions manually or downloading them?
- If manually, are you entering them directly in the transaction list (register) or via the Enter Transactions button?
