What version of Quicken are you running?
In QWin 2019, if I view a banking register, click the gear at the top right, then pick More reports and the Register report, the balance as of the ending date is shown near the bottom of the report. I don't see a way to get this report to show the running balance if that is what you are looking for.
To see the running balance, you can use the "old style" register report by viewing the register then hitting Ctrl-P to print it. (File/Print used to work for this but has recently been broken.) This report will be sorted with the same criteria as the register.
