On Quicken Deluxe (Mac) I have no option to import QIF files that PayPal creates

You are probably reading instructions for QWin. In QMac, importing using QIF has been limited to only read in data from competitor data files when creating a new data file in Quicken. QIF import in QMac does not support ongoing data import.
If you really are intent on it, you can look for converters that will convert QIF to QFX. Then you may be able to import. You will likely need to read up on the use of INTU.BID to make it work.Have Questions? Help Guide for Quicken for Mac
