I keep reading I just need to select the QIF option from the import list, but I don't have that as an option. It tells me I can't import it into an empty new account, and says it can only import it into an empty DOCUMENT?
You are probably reading instructions for QWin. In QMac, importing using QIF has been limited to only read in data from competitor data files when creating a new data file in Quicken. QIF import in QMac does not support ongoing data import.
If you really are intent on it, you can look for converters that will convert QIF to QFX. Then you may be able to import. You will likely need to read up on the use of INTU.BID to make it work.

Thanks, kind stranger. @smayer97 Disappointed to hear it won’t be easy but I will prevail! Thinking about making manual entries for the past and connect to the account ongoing. Ugh. There goes the weekend!
