Enhance the @ function (aka Name Dropper, callout, @mention)

I was not aware that the @ name dropper tool in Vanilla had any functionality related to the post; I always thought it just searched the entire directory or users of this forum. Is there some indication that it has ever worked otherwise? sometimes you get the right user with your first three characters, sometimes you have to type most or all of the name.
In terms of usernames with a space in them, the functionality is squirrelly. Vanilla was never designed to work with usernames that contain spaces. Quicken got them to make a change to allow usernames with spaces to exist -- but Vanilla didn't have time to rewrite all the code in the site for this. Supposedly they will, in the future. I suggested that instead Quicken should have Vanilla run a script to convert all spaces to hyphens or underscores, but they didn't do that. If you know to type the @ sign, then a quote, then the name, then a closing quote, it works all -- 100% of the time. If you don't know that trick, it's hit or miss whether you'll get the right name, since Vanilla only presents 4 names at a time.

It has also been suggested that the name dropper feature should priorities the names in the list to first show names that are already part of the thread.
This would be a useful addition.Have Questions? Help Guide for Quicken for Mac

For cross-referencing, here is the IDEA request to change user names to remove spaces:

To expand on my idea and @smayer97 would be to list the participants of the thread as soon as one types "@" without having to type any letter when replying or commenting.

Got it. You seemed to be saying originally that something was broken with the way @ was working currently. What you're suggesting is nothing Quicken can fix or get fixed; it's a feature enhancement suggestion for Vanilla.Quicken Mac Subscription • Quicken user since 19930

I tweaked the title as a result...

The recent status change to this idea misses the mark. The description for the root problem does NOT reflect the issue presented. The issue is that the @mention does NOT prioritize the list based on the names that have already replied to the thread. Simply removing duplicates will have little to no impact.
