How do you enter a mortgage renewal that we increased to decrease debt and allow for renovation?

Previously used Microsoft Money. Literally brand new to Quicken.

A bit more info needed in order to assist you.
What Q product are you running? What country? What Build? (Do HELP, About Quicken to get this info).
AND, in Q, have you set up this mortgage to download from the Lender (If you haven't DON'T!).
But, in general, you create a new mortgage and use part of the proceeds to pay-off the old mortgage. I.E, you "follow the money".
