how do i add a security to an account

NotACPA

A security can only be added to an Investment type account.

1st you create the Security in Q.  Do TOOLS, Security List (CTRL-Y) for this action.

THEN, you either BUY or ADD the security to the account .. depending upon how you acquired it.
