File Conversion and Backup (Windows)
How can I protect my data with newer version of Quicken
davestuf75
When I purchased my last computer I installed my Quciken 10 from my disk. When I restored from my back up disk file it deleted years of data. Does this still happen? If I upgrade from Quicken 10 for the web version will all my data files be saved/

A Quicken Backup creates an exact copy of your data file as of the moment of backup.
A Quicken Restore takes that exact copy and overwrites your current file (unless you chose to give the Restored file a new name).
SO, it sounds like you selected an OLDER Backup file that didn't contain those years of data.
Do you have any newer Backup files that you can use to at least re-capture some (ALL if you're lucky) of that data?
Lastly, what is "Quicken 10"? Please do HELP, About Quicken and tell us what Q product it says you're running and what BUILD of Quicken.

And the current Quicken is NOT a web version. It's still a desktop/laptop product where you're data is stored locally on your hard drive.
The new subscription product does have mobile and web companion apps...but the data is stored on Quicken's Cloud servers...and is purely optional to use. There is no requirement that anything has to be on the web.
