When I imported my vanguard qif file, several placecard holders are now there that have completely messed up my accounting. How do I remove??

The Placeholders force Quicken's share balances to match the balances downloaded from Vanguard. If this is a newly created account in Quicken, they are there because you already had holdings in the account on the earliest download date.
