Quicken Classic for Mac
Installing and Updating (Mac)
I updated Quicken subscription to 5.14.0 and get "Quicken encountered an unexpected error"
NancyS
After I updated by Quicken 2018 Deluxe subscription from 5.13.3 to 5.14.0 I can't launch the program. I get "Quicken encountered an unexpected error". I have tried rebooting the Mac 10.13.6, and right click to "show windows" (no other windows open). When I check for updates, it says I am up to date. Do I need to uninstall and reinstall? If I uninstall will I lose my accounts? If I want to reinstall, where to I get the file? I don't see a place on quicken.com for update - just new subscriptions. I have not uninstalled and reinstalled, if that's the answer, so need specific instructions. I can't find a phone number to call to talk to a real support person. Is there one, and what hours will they answer. I tried chat, but for the product I clicked Quicken for Mac, and it wouldn't proceed. Thanks.

Not sure what "check for updates, it says I am up to date" means if you say you cannot open Quicken.
You should be able to download the app from your Quicken.com account. If not, the previous version of the app should be in your Trash or if you use Time Machine or other backup, you should be able to retrieve it.
NOTE: You
may
also have to revert to a back up of your data file for this, since there is an internal change to the data base to handle the new Quick Fill feature, so you may not be able to use your data file that has been updated to 5.14.

I was able find the previous 5.13 Quicken version in the trash and retrieve it. Then I was able to restore a previous data backup from yesterday and open my accounts. Thank you for the help.

Glad it worked out.
