When I go to reports and look at take summary _Intinc shows up but Interest Income even though ii is
elvall
checked does not show up. When I enter a transaction I can only choose Interest Income and not _Intinc.

I suggest you examine the tax line item associated with the
Interest Income
category and the transactions and verify that these transactions are not being filtered out for other reasons (for example, a tax-deferred account).

What is "Interest Income"? Did you create a category by that name?
Because your interest should be recorded using _IntInc.
AND, if you did create you own "Interest Income" category, did you assign it a
Tax Line?
