How do I track mileage?

There are a couple of work-arounds...one I use is to create 2 categories...one for he actual mileage, the other to simply offset the first entry. Then you enter the mileage as a "payment" and enter the opposite as an offset. This way, by running a report an including both you can be sure your entries are correct and you get a running total.

I did not. In my case I include the mileage with each transaction and each Payee includes the address as part of the name (at least the ones I want to track). This way, every time I enter that same payee & location, the mileage auto-populates, though I can override it for specific circumstances. Then I simply run a mileage report on the category Auto:Mileage (with the corresponding Auto:Mileage:Offset).

Just for reference for anyone else reading, using the investment technique as a work-around is talked about here: https://community.quicken.com/discussion/comment/20053826/#Comment_20053826
Meanwhile, you can add your VOTE to Make Mileage Tracking available in all Quicken editions.

What Quicken desktop version do you use?AFAIK, the Mileage Tracker is only available in Quicken for Windows, Home, Business and Rental Property edition, not any other edition and not any Web or Smartphone app.0
