This works for me, please describe what version of Quicken you are using (from Help > About Quicken) what you tried and what happened.

When adding an income account, the first menu that comes up is all payees. It ends up with a payment to the income source!

In Q, "income" is a CATEGORY ... not an Account.
And a Dividend transaction is recorded in the Investment account where the security is held ... not in your checking account.
IF your checking account is a "Linked checking Account" (that represents the cash portion of your brokerage account) then Q itself will record a DivX transaction and reflect the dividend in your Linked checking account.

At the bottom of the 'Bill and Income Reminders' page:
    > Add button
    > Income Reminder
    > From menu
Here is the problem, this menu only shows the memorized payee list
    I need the security list
If you type in a security, you end up with an income reminder that pays the dividend back to the security!!

These words don't make any sense....
Are you attempting to add transactions manually, or were they downloaded from your brokerage ?
Where is this "dividend income payment" coming from... stock, mutual fund, etc ?
Do you have a Quicken account established for this holding ?
And where is the dividend amount getting deposited or transferred ?
Is it - re-invested, added to a cash balance, added to a linked cash account, etc ?

Adding a dividend income payment -
Is there is a Quicken software problem ?

    nope.. no software problem -
and I have suggested that your 3 topics on this subject all be merged into a single thread...
