You would need to ask that question of corporate Quicken, Inc, this is just a forum of Quicken users and lowly moderators that don't know why Quicken makes most of the decisions that it does. CEO President Eric Dunn would have that answer.

Try shopping around re: where you buy Q. Costco, Amazon, eBay, WalMart, etc almost always have better pricing, and frequently longer subscription periods, than does Q itself.
