Is there a way to use the transaction date for reconcilation? Download date just messes things Up.

A number of downloaded transactions have dates outside the reconciliation period. Is ther a way to use transaction date which is much better to reconcile with?

To address your question directly, as pointed out by the article that
@Sherlock
pointed out Quicken is going to use the posted date from any downloaded transactions, there is no way around that.
About the only thing you can do not reconcile to the online balance/date, but instead reconcile to a "statement date" and change that date so that it will include the transactions' posting date.
BTW a special note for something that I have seen recently that isn't captured in the article that Sherlock pointed to that I noticed with PayPal (I don't see this with other financial institutions I have). And that is the date/time given isn't compensated by time zone and as such I have gotten downloaded transactions for "the next day".
And in that case I can't reconcile, because even though the online date is also for tomorrow, Quicken will not include transactions in the future for a reconcile. So I have to wait till the next day to do the reconcile.
