Also I have a question about the pdf printer if someone comes along to reply. What does it do? I forget. Can you use it to save other things as a pdf? Where does it save it? I tried to save a website page (just a grid with amounts) to it but couldn't find anything on my computer after.

Assuming you are using Windows 10, Use "Microsoft Print to PDF" instead. If you aren't using Windows 10, there are better PDF printer drivers out there like CuitePDF (free) or Win2PDF (this one I paid for a long time back and loved, but with Windows 10 it isn't needed).
For whatever reason the one that Quicken Inc pays for from Amyuni isn't very good.
Note I can confirm that the "Quicken PDF Printer" driver doesn't work in the use case of "What if".
I haven't used the Quicken PDF printer driver in more than 20 years.

What the PDF printer drivers do is present themselves to programs as if they are a driver to a real printer (usually as a postscript printer), and then when the programs "prints" that printer driver gets that data and translates it into PDF format.
And the answer of where it goes is, for "printing to a file" Windows will prompt you for the file name of where to store it.

No it didn't ask me for a name so I couldn't find it to email to someone. That's why I asked. I have Q2013 and Windows 8.1.

Well maybe another one of the buggy things that happen with the "Quicken PDF printer".
It should have looked something like this. Ctrl+P ->
Pressing Print:
I suggest you get CuitePDF:

I've been using CutePDF for several years. Works very well ... and you can't beat the price!
