Hi, Lise:
No, you won't be able to setup Quicken for Mac to download transactions, convert them to splits, and calculate the various GST/HST/PST taxes.
You will have to manually split/enter those if you wish to track. Renaming rules can remember the splits for respective payees, but the program isn't setup to calculate the tax.
This might make a good feature request because, if I recall correctly, the CRA requires our friends up North to track those taxes more closely than equivalent ones in the US.0 -
There was an idea thread for this feature but after over 3 years of little support it was archived only 2 months ago.
Anyway, there would be no easy way for Quicken to know when to apply the tax splitting and when not to for downloaded transactions.
The closest you might get is for you to add your VOTE for QuickMath functionality.
First, click on the underlined link above to go there, then click the little grey triangle under the VOTE count at the top of page 1 in the blue banner, so your vote will count for THIS feature and increase its visibility to the developers by seeking to have the features you need or desire end up in the latest version (it may take a moment for your vote to register).
(If the triangle is black, your vote has already been counted.)
