Sometimes I'm screwing up and want to start over. How can I exit Q without saving the file

You can't.Because Q doesn't save transactions when you EXIT ... but rather when you press ENTER/SAVE to record the transaction.I'd suggest that you create a BACKUP after every time that you use Q, so that you can revert to that backup as needed.Q user since DOS version 5

Each entry is saved when you make it. You are working in a live file. The only thing you can do is restore a backup from before. So each time before you start making entries you should do a backup like to a flash drive. I have several I rotate each time. So if you know you are going to make more than a couple entries BACKUP before.
I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.
