Is there a limit on post length?

It seems that there is some kind of limit on the number of characters for a post. I have been trying to post a question and only after I skinny it down will it post. What is the limit?

So from my trial and error I find that the limit for the maximum number of characters in the body of a post in Community when using copy / paste is 7800 characters.

There's a limit on how many characters can be in the header.  I think it's about 40 (but I could be wrong).
IF there's a limit of characters in the BODY of a message, it's quite large.  I've seen messages that have run for pages.
SO, how long is your post?

Wow, your question is that long?  Do you have to write a book?  Post it in sections.

    Hi @""Terry Locke" ,

That is one post. Top is the Question / Discussion Title or Idea Title which has a limit in the Subject Field of asking a Question or starting a Discussion or Idea. Then the Body of the post.

Yes, what is the max number of characters in the Body of the post?

So that's strange because I was blocked because it stated that my post was something like 6000 characters to long.

Also right now I can't post to anything other than this thread. I keep getting errors.

    Hi @""Terry Locke" ,

Empty the Browser Web Cache and Cookies.

It is unlimited when typing in the Body of the Message.

If you are pasting in a log, I would print the log to a Jpeg File and attach it to the message, instead.

    Adding:

Use Glary Utilities from : https://www.glarysoft.com/

It is Free when using it unregistered.

It is not a log. I am copy pasting from word document. I do that so I am not trying to create my post directly in community as I find editing here a pain.

Can you start by posting a basic general question?  Then add more specifics when needed or asked?  Maybe we won't need all the details to give you an answer.

Are all 2680 words on a SINGLE topic?  Or do you have multiple topics included?
If multiple topics, break it up into multiple posts ... you get better responses that way also.
OR can you convert the document to  PDF and upload that as an attachment?

I thought it was a straight forward question, how many characters in the body of a post. I guess not since I got snarky answers.

So, as previously asked, post the essence of your question about Q itself, rather than about this forum.

This part of the forum is "Questions about using community" category and since I was asking a question about community usage, I posted it here. If I had a question about Quicken I would have selected a different category and ask a question there.

You initially stated that you had a 14000 character post, and that it was all on a single topic.
Was that topic the length of posts in this forum?  If so, your question has been answered, by yourself.  AND, if so, why did it take 14000 words to ask that???
