My understanding is that it means the FI doesn't support bill payments via Quicken.

Frankx is almost correct.Every record in the fidir.txt file has NOT_QBP NA in it but these two entries:10756 10756 10756 zzz Quicken Bill Pay old http://quicken.intuit.com/ (877) 486-8844 https://www.quickenonline.intuit.com/quickenweb/pages/iam/login_main.jsf ACTIVE ACCOUNTINFO,PAYMENT&DIRECT CURRENT_QBP NA16402 16402 16402 zzz-Quicken Bill Pay - New http://quickenbillpay.com/ (877) 486-8844 http://quickenbillpay.com/ ACTIVE ACCOUNTINFO,PAYMENT&DIRECT CURRENT_QBP NASo, I interpret that to mean that the FI entry is not used by QUICKEN BILL PAY, not whether or not you can do bill pay transactions with the FI's bill pay system.[added]NOTE: QUICKEN BILL PAY is no longer the system used by Quicken.-splasher using Q since 1996 - Subscription - Win10
-also older versions as needed for testing

I think QBP stands for QuickBooks Pay. Remember this list is used by Intuit for QuickBooks too, which is one of the main reasons it is still around even after Intuit got rid of Quicken.
The financial institutions that support Direct Connect Bill Payment have this:PAYMENT&DIRECT

There is no more Quicken Bill Pay. Hence the "zzz"s.

Sounds good to me. I was debating between Quicken Bill Pay and QuickBooks Pay. Should have gone with the first one.
And now that I think of it, it makes more sense. Since Quicken Bill Pay used ACH transfers almost every financial institution would have been supported. And whatever system QuickBooks is using would have to be support on almost all of them too, and as such one two missing would be "wrong".Signature:
