Banks not updating - allow entering online balance to reconcile

Since the banks are not allowing updating - why not have an app in the Quicken program to allow you to enter the online balance after getting it yourself from online banking so as to balance the Quicken spreadsheet?

WHAT banks "are not allowing updating"? And, that's a Quicken "Register", not a spreadsheet.
Also, what Q product are you running ... and what BUILD of that product? Do HELP, About Quicken for this info.
