Why does information in category field not show up in reports?

We have an investment account with money market checking. Why does the information in the category field for entries made in this investment account not show up when you create reports?

The information in the category field should show up in the appropriate reports. You may want to review:

If the entire transaction is missing from a report, not just the category information, make sure the account is included in the report customization. Click on the gear at the top right of the report, select the Accounts tab, and make sure the account in question is selected.
Also some reports allow you to select the columns to show and perhaps the Category column is not included. The column selection is on the Display tab when you customize the report.
