How to create investment account in CA but with fund invested in US (in Canadian $ mutual fund).

The holding is is C$, but inside some investment were in USD$ in canadian stocks.

    Answer ✓
    You can only have one currency per account/security.  And any given account can only hold securities that have the same currency.  If you are funding it with USD that either has to be a transfer from a USD account or manually entered converting the amount to CAD at the time of purchase in the CAD account.

    @Miguel  Stated differently, you need 2 investment accounts ... one in CAD and the other in USD.  No single account in
    Q, of any type, can hold more than 1 currency.
