I just started using quicken and linked a bank account with a credit card account. I have saved .qfx files for the last year I was hoping to be able to import into quicken for the credit card from the bank. when i tried to do this I got the error
"The financial instit had downloaded data for an account that does not exist in your quicken data file ol-362-a"
when looked up on the web was told this was because accout information was out of sync with the server which makes sense since these entries came from me.
Can I import the entries or should I just go from the present time forward and forget about entering past expenses to try to see spending patterns?

It is entirely up to you. Before attempting to import the QFX files, I suggest you deactivate the Online Services associated with the register and clear the financial institution's name on the General tab of the Account Details window: https://www.quicken.com/support/deactivate-online-banking-services-quicken-account0

You should be able to import the files whether you downloaded today or over the last year. This FAQ discusses the process: FAQ - Download old transactions
-splasher using Q continuously since 1996
- Subscription Quicken - Win11 and QW2013 - Win11
