Can I have 2 Quicken files open at the same time in Quicken Windows?

I have different Quicken files for different family businesses. Occasionally I have transactions that affect more than one file. It would be easier if all those files could be open at once, similar to having multiple "tabs" or windows open in a web browser. Does Quicken have this capability and I just can't figure it out?

No.  The closest you can come to that is to run Virtual Machine software so that you have a window running a second copy of Windows and have Quicken running in that Windows instance also.

-splasher using Q continuously since 1996
    - Subscription Quicken - Win11 and QW2013 - Win11

An enhancement request has previously been posted and is available here:

If you would like to see this enhancement made in a hopefully not too distant future version of Quicken please don't forget to vote on it. Locate the big yellow box near the top of this webpage (or page 1 for long discussions) and click the "Up" triangle under the voting count.
<--- insert cap44 vote triangle here
Wait a moment for the vote count to be registered and updated before you continue.
The little triangle changes from black to grey when you have registered your vote.
Adding an extra comment helps, but does not automatically increment the vote count.

just curious what kind of transaction would effect more than one Quicken "unrelated" business files ?

I would like this too. Lately I have had problems with Quicken changing the starting date on bank accounts that have old transactions archived off. I need to look at transactions from an old backup version and correct the current version. This is hard to do when I can't look at both at once. And this is happening much too frequently lately!
