Can't import qfx file for Credit Card account
Jerrymander
HI all. I'm a long-time quicken user, and I have been downloading and importing .qfx files for my credit card file for years. Recently, though, I got a new computer and had to re-install Quicken. This morning, I downloaded my .qfx file as usual, but when I tried to import it, I was presented with a dialog titled "Import Downloaded Transactions" in it, I have the option to Create a New Account or Link to an existing account. NO big deal, right? HBut the list of existing accounts only shows My Savings and Checking accounts, and the Create a new account dropdown only lists Checking And Savings. Any idea what to do about this? Thanks!

Thanks to all for your help. As it turns out, this was 100% user error. This is what happens when I try to balance my checkbook before coffee. As it turns out, I downloaded the data from my checking account the first time. I went back ad did a second download (this time from my actual credit card account), and it worked like a charm. Problem solved

Have you Deactivated the credit card for downloading?
Quicken will not present an account for linking if it is already linked to what it believes is another online account.

After deactivating the CC account (Online Services tab of Account Details), you might also want to consider deleting all of the Financial Institution information in the upper right quadrant of the General tab of Account Details. This step is especially important if something changed (by even just one character) in the FI name, in your account number or the Customer ID. Then try clicking on Set Up Now on the Online Services tab of Account Details and follow the prompts.
