Memo field duplicated from previous transaction at store

I've noticed this on my credit card transaction register.
The "memo" field is being duplicated from the previous charge to each store.
Not sure if this is a Memorized Payee issue or some other setting -
ie -
charge to USPS and memo is from last month of "send gift"
charge to Hardware store is from previous trip for "ants spray"

Typically it is the memorized payee that is "holding on" to the memo.  Select Ctrl+T and edit the payee entry to see what it has on the memo line.

Might be a good idea to "Lock" the MPL entry so it acts as a skeleton record which is not updated with every new transaction.

What that is referring to is that quite often the downloaded memo has something about the payee in it and if your memorized payee entry has a blank memo, it would be filled in with the payee info, so this prevents it from being filled in with the downloaded junk.
Your issue is as described by Chris_QPW and UKR.

BTW was anyone else surprised that they implemented that blocking of the downloaded memo at the account level?  (Once I thought about it, it made sense, but I though they would do it at the memorized payee entry level.  Actually it surprised that they implemented it at all {A good surprise!}).

Right click on the account name in the Account Bar and select Edit/Delete account.  That brings up the Account Details (it is also on the gear icon menu in the account).  From there you will see the Online Services tab.
