where is the check register in quicken deluxe, windows version?

    Click on the Checking account name in the Account bar to go to the register.
    If you want to be presented with a dialog that looks like a check to enter a transaction select the gear icon in the upper right of the register and select Write checks or select Ctrl+W.

    You need to create the bank Account first.  Click on Tools > Add Account and work through the process of establishing the Account as either a downloading or manual Account.  Once the Account is created click on that Account in the Account Bar (column to left or right of the screen) and you're in the check register.
