Register sounds delayed

This is weird: when I enter a transaction, there's a delay of several seconds before the ca-ching sound plays. That didn't happen before. Anyone have a theory what's going on, or what to do about it? Tried turning sounds off and on again, even reinstalled Quicken (for another reason), issue persists. Not a big deal, obviously, but mildly annoying.

My data file is very large (has 20+ years of data). I've also noticed that OSUs are taking a bit longer than usual. Thing is, I'm used to some stuff being slow. But the sounds thing is weird.
