Investment security detail pie charts flaws, part 2
Dano328
I have custom asset categories which seem to be causing havoc with Q.
1 - The rebalance tab does not reflect the custom categories.
2 - Pie charts lumps some assets into "No Asset" even when correctly allocated to a category.
3 - Would be nice if the colors of target and actual wheels followed the same sequence - orange, blue, green, purple etc.
4 - In previous discussion it was thought 10 or 11 categories was the limit. Has this been looked into?

3a Would also be nice if the order of the slices matched the order of the associated charts, not largest to smallest or whatever it is now. See this Idea post

4 Quicken currently supports the 8 original classes plus 10 new user definable ones. The main issue is that the new classes are not fully integrated with the other features that use or display asset classes, as you mention above. Do you think there is a pressing need for more classes? What would you do with them?

Jim,
3a yes that is the issue. Is that big a problem to fix because it just makes it hard to follow.
4 Not more, just annoying that Q assigns them to "No asset" when the count goes up. When will Q support to integrate the custom classes?

The target/actual comparison should really be a single doughnut graph with 2 rings: outer ring actual, inner ring target. The multi-ring capability is the major benefit of doughnut charts over pie charts.

Multi ring doughnut. Great idea !

Item 5 - For the target allocation, if I press "change target" and change the percent desired for the custom items the total at the bottom usually does not update. Have to cancel and try a few times.
