Paycheck bug
surfcash
I was pulling an income/spend report by category and noticed that the salary information was a multiple of what it should have been. When I clicked on some of the paychecks they had a recurring number of entries (salary/bonus + salary/bonus + salary/bonus + salary/bonus). When I clicked on the transaction, it crashed Quicken. When I restarted, it showed 0 balances, but the proper dollar figure is in the register. Help!

Hello
@surfcash
,
Thank you for contacting the Quicken Community, though I do apologize that you are experiencing this issue with the Paycheck Wizard.
To start with, I suggest that you please try validating and/or super validating your data file. However, I do recommend that you first
save a backup
file prior to performing these steps.
Validate
:
File
Validate and Repair File...
Validate File
Click OK
Close the Data Log
Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.
If the issue persists, proceed to Super Validate. If the issue is resolved after performing validation, then please disregard the instructions to Super Validate.
Super Validate
:
File
Hold CTRL + Shift and click Validate and Repair File...
Super Validate File
Click OK
Close the Data Log
Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.
Let me know how it goes!

Neither process fixed the problem. The data log for super validate did say a number of transactions had errors and that I should fix them. I suppose I should go through each transaction and re-enter them. It's kind of a pain, but I'll do it. How can I be sure that the bug isn't persistent?

If I click on one of the broken paycheck transactions (to see the split) it crashes Quicken
